Welcome to my humble abode.

Return to the city

Movin' On Up

Work has been work, what did you expect? I can at least draw some excitement from my move this weekend. My new apartment is in a fantastic complex in the North suburbs and, best of all, my rush hour commute will drop from about 1 hour 30 minutes to about 20 minutes! I still need to find a subletter for my downtown apartment, so let me know if anyone out there is looking...
After great difficulty, my computer is semi-stable. As it turns out, EPOX designed a motherboard that effectively FRIED when used with MS Windows 95. You know the Windows 95 that 90% of the world uses, but I digress... Even after all of that, I've been having trouble with patches and drivers non-stop, so I'm looking to return the mobo for good and replace it with a more stable model.
Back to the apartment; my next step after moving in will be furnishing the place. I was given a good dining table by a generous gentleman at my office and my folks have promised furniture for my B-day. So, between that and the fact that I'll be living 15 minutes from IKEA, I should at least have the basics covered from the get-go.
Lastly, I'm toying with the idea of setting up more personalized messages to my friends and family by setting up password protected links, but I don't know how long something like that would take. Oh, if I only had the kind of free time I had when I was still in school...
